Responsibilites:
Receives supervision and direction from our Fire Chief, Fire Captain or designee, responds to fire and medical non-emergency and emergency situations within the City’s Fire Department. Responds to fire emergencies including structural, wildland, dumpster, motor vehicle, and hazardous materials; Responds to medical emergencies, including injuries, accidents, falls and medical conditions; Performs welfare checks; Administrates medical treatment and life support; Loads and transports patients to the hospital; Completes required reports and documentation; Directs and delegates tasks to emergency medical technicians with patient care; Inspects fire hydrates; Installs smoke detectors; Provides public safety awareness; teaches fire prevention, EMS and life safety methods.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Valid Arizona State Driver’s License, State of Arizona EMCT-EMT Certification Arizona Firefighter I & II Certification; Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations Certification, CPR Certification,
Within One (1) Year of Date of Hire:
ICS: 100, 200, 700 Certification, Wildland Firefighter Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Spanish Language Fluency, Associates Degree in Business or Public Administration, Fire Science, or related field, AZ Driver Operator Certification.
Salary/Classification:
Full-Time Position; FLSA Non-Exempt; Salary Range 41 ($29,320 – $41,077) plus benefits as outlined in the Personnel Manual
