COVID – 19  Response 

Two additional cases in Santa Cruz were identified since the last press release. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county to 16. According to data available from AZDHS.gov, there are an estimated 6-10 confirmed COVID-19 cases from Nogales. Although COVID-19 cases are increasing, to-date there not been any reported COVID-19 hospitalizations or deaths in Santa Cruz County. Across the state, the number of new COVID-like illness hospitalizations appears to be flattening. Health officials from the University of Arizona are projecting peak hospitalizations for Arizona in late April, which means that residents should continue to practice social distancing, good hygiene, and staying home.
