Responsibilities: Receives general supervision and direction from the Public Works Director, Utilities Superintendent, Water Supervisor, Wastewater Supervisor, or designee. Installs, operates, repairs, and maintains all City’s utilities. Repairs main utility lines. Operates and maintains various equipment and tools. Responsible for adequately addressing and fixing system breakdowns as in residential and commercial water leaks. Installs, maintains, repairs, and reads water meters. Dig water and sewer trenches and assist with cleaning, repairing, and maintenance of the municipal water production storage and delivery system. Assist and participate in water and wastewater sample collection for compliance with state and federal regulations. General knowledge of plumbing work. Responds to emergency calls for water, sewer lines, and manholes issues. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education, Certifications and Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications: Spanish language fluency. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Distribution, Grade I Certification. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Treatment Operator, Grade I Certification.
