Responsibilities: Under general supervision and direction from the Fire Chief, Fire Captain, Engineer or designee. May act as Fire Captain or Fire Engineer in the absence of the Fire Captain or Fire Engineer, Responds to fire emergencies, including structural, wildland, dumpster, motor vehicle and hazardous materials, Responds to medical emergencies, including injuries, accidents, falls and medical conditions; performs welfare checks, Performs hose testing, water hydrant testing and maintenance, May operate fire vehicles and equipment, Responds to emergency medical calls; performs patient assessment; administers medical treatment and life support; loads and transports patients to the hospital; completes required reports and documentation; directs and delegates tasks to emergency medical technicians with patients, May operate fire vehicles and equipment.
Education and Certifications Required: High School Diploma OR equivalent, Valid Arizona State Driver’s License, State of AZ Firefighter I & II Certification, Hazardous Materials First Responder operations Certification, State of AZ EMCT-Paramedic certification, CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification, ICS- 100, 200, 700 Certification, Wildland Firefighter Certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Spanish Language Fluency, Associates Degree in Fire Science, Public or Business Administration or related field.
Salary/Classification: Full-Time Position; FLSA Non-Exempt; Starting Salary $44,206.73, plus benefits as outlined in the Personnel Manual
