Responsibilities: Receives lead/functional supervision from the on scene Paramedic, Captain, Engineer, or designee. Responds to medical incidents and provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and medical transportation services to non-emergent patients. Provides on-scene patient care. Maintains composure and makes medical assessments and patient care decisions in response to medical emergencies. Drives, navigates, and operates emergency transport vehicles requiring a standard Class D Arizona driver’s license. Takes patient vital signs. Sets up and monitors medical equipment including cardiac monitors, IVs, and defibrillators. Performs CPR. Climbs steps or ladders, navigates uneven surfaces and lifts and moves patients with assistance to treat and transport from scenes. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education, Certifications and Requirements: High School Diploma OR GED equivalent and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Valid Arizona State driver’s license and Arizona Emergency Medical Technician Basic certification (EMT-B). Must not be on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Preferred Qualifications: Spanish language fluency.
Salary/Classification: Full-time, non-classified: at-will position; Salary $13.501/hr.
